I have an innate ability to look into a kaleidoscope for hours at an end, the colours and shapes all of which are so unique... you're sure you'll never see them again. I remember distinctly spending long hours, remembering my mother's instructions, and collecting the 'choisiest' pieces of broken bangles that were carefully collected over time and meticulously fit into what we made - our wonder mania. Three long pieces of plain glass, arranged in a triangle and placed in a long, hollow tube; the ends were finished with circular glass slabs with the colourful shapes sprinkled into this vacuum. Taped, finished, it became my most treasured 'object of observation.' With every turn, there's a new design, with different hues - flowers, lamps, stars, even simple geometric designs... It's simply mind boggling... You can't capture it on film, or even photograph it. I guess that is what makes it so priceless, that you'd want to stare it for long enough so that you can remember it for as long as you can... In just the same way you look forward to watching rainbows from end to end till you can count all the seven colours (and one hundred shades in between) over and over again. And yet, when you see it again, you are as awe struck as you were when the first time you saw it! I guess, I'll never outgrow these...
